Community Links Programs
The Community Links Programs, funded by Community Living BC, are designed to provide support to adults living with developmental disabilities in the Mount Waddington Regional District. Our programs, including Semi-Independent Living, Community Inclusion, and Supported Employment, provide opportunities to develop daily living skills, employment skills, as well as access to recreational and leisure activities.
Our Programs Include:
Semi-Independent Living Support Program
The Semi-Independent Living Support Program provides outreach support to individuals who are living on their own. The workers assist with daily living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, banking, and appointment skills that promote independence.
Community Links Day Program
The Community Links Day Program is based out of Robert Scott School in Port Hardy. Participants access the day program on their own or with assistance, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. All participants who attend our program have access to various scheduled activities throughout the week including: swimming, cooking, bowling, shopping, walking in the community, etc.
The Supported Employment Program assists individuals who are seeking employment, as well as those who are currently employed, through job skill development, employment matching, job coaching and shadowing, and employment counselling. The program has been successful in assisting participants gain and maintain meaningful employment at a fair wage.
