Strong Start Coordinator

North Island Community Services is a not-for-profit society that has successfully been providing community-based services to the Mount Waddington region for 40 years. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a strong community connection to support and build Strong Start in Alert Bay. Funded by Vancouver Island School District (SD) 85, the Strong Start Program is a parent participation-based program for children aged 0-5. The program offers playbased early learning activities – including stories, music and art, focused on preparing children for Kindergarten. The program is designed for early learning development, including language, physical, social, emotional and cognitive. It is an opportunity for children to learn through play, while making new friends with other children of a similar age.

Essential Qualifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification preferred Approved Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check Level 1 First Aid w/CPR (or willing to obtain prior to start date) Food Safe Certificate Preferred (willing to obtain upon hire)
